How to Photograph and Describe a Used Item Honestly

A useful listing helps a buyer decide whether to ask the next question. Photograph the actual item in even light against an uncluttered background. Include a full view, both sides where relevant, a model or specification label, included accessories and every material defect. Do not use another seller's photos or hide damage with filters.

Write a factual title

Write a title that identifies the item rather than advertising an outcome. A useful pattern is brand, model, important specification and condition, for example: Samsung Galaxy A54 8/256GB, used, screen scratched. Avoid all caps, repeated words, fake urgency and claims such as "brand new" when an item has been used.

Describe what the buyer needs to know

The description should state age or purchase date if known, working condition, repairs, defects, included accessories, ownership or documents where relevant, pickup area and whether the asking price is negotiable. Do not publish a phone number, exact home address or sensitive document image in the description.

Price only after comparing genuinely similar active listings. A clearer photo may improve a buyer's understanding, but it does not guarantee more views, a higher price or a faster sale.
